Educational Goals and Topics:

This Conference will focus on building new economic opportunity, access to jobs, education and return to health and community for Veterans at risk for mild TBI, PTSD, and Polytrauma In conjunction with the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference simultaneously occuring in Honolulu.  Specifically, this conference will address related health, education, and supported education and supported employment challenges faced by returning veterans from Afghanistan, Iraq and related conflicts.  Additionally, we will seek to identify national capacity-building programs, healthcare and economic development and reintegration models which could aid both our returning veterans and our US-Japan Exchange Partners.  Our goal for this Conference is to share existing "Best Practice" models and to identify innovative solutions to benefit national reconstruction, healthcare and economic capacity.  These programs can then grow to benefit large returning Veteran populations with TBI and PTSD, as well as offering models for our Japanese Exchange Partners whose population, healthcare systems, and economic opportunities were greatly affected by the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami.
